It was also nicknamed Kuromon Ichiba or Black Gate Market for its black painted gate that was destroyed by a massive fire in 1912.

Access to Kuromon Ichiba is a 3-minute walk from the Nippombashi Subway Station where hours are varied by stores, typically between 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
