Osaka is the second-largest city in Japan and the center city of the Osaka metropolitan area, one of Japan's three largest metropolitan areas. The Osaka metropolitan area has two national airports located in Japan, which include the Osaka Itami International Airport and Kansai International Airport. The two airports have multiple routes to cities and attractions across the country. Kansai International Airport (KIX)
Kansai International Airport is one of the five national central airports in Japan. It is also an important international airport in the Osaka metropolitan area. It is located on an artificial island on the southeast side of Osaka Bay. Kansai International Airport is the first one in the world. The artificial island airport built by the sea and land is also a large maritime international airport. It is the main international airport in the Keihanshin metropolitan area and the Kansai area. It consists of Terminals 1 and 2. Terminal 1 is composed of 4 floors and an international departure area. Terminal 2 consists of the departure and arrival halls (international and domestic routes). The distance between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 is approximately 4 kilometers. To move between terminals, you can take the free shuttle bus that runs between Aeroplaza and Terminal 2; it takes about 7 to 9 minutes. Since it takes time to move between the terminals, be sure to allow relatively sufficient time.



Terminal Departures and Arrivals
The International Departure and Arrival Halls of Terminal 2 are both located on level 1F.
International Departure Terminal 1: You will go to the main building, KIX Airside Avenue, and check-in, go through the security check, immigration, check-in at 4F after immigration and proceed to the boarding gate according to the signs in the building.
International Arrivals Terminal 1: Upon arrival, follow the guide to the quarantine counter and head towards 2F for immigration. After the immigration is completed, please proceed to the 1F arrival hall. After baggage claim, plant and animal quarantine, customs baggage inspection, you can leave.

Transportation from Kansai International Airport to Downtown Osaka
Tram: There are two main lines from Kansai Airport to downtown Osaka, the Kansai Airport Line, and the Nankai Electric Railway. The Kansai Airport Line takes about 65 minutes to reach downtown Osaka. All lines are operated by JR. The stations that can be reached are Shin-Osaka Station, Osaka Station, and Tennoji Station.

Public Bus: There are bus stops on the 1st floor of Terminal 1 (to destinations). Please purchase your ticket at the ticket machine on the first floor. There are also bus stops on the first floor of Terminal 2 (to destinations). Please purchase your ticket at the ticket machine on the first floor.



Osaka Itami International Airport (ITM)
Osaka Itami International Airport is an important international airport in the Osaka metropolitan area and the main domestic airport in the Kansai region of Japan. The cities served are Kansai, Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe. Osaka Itami International Airport is an important hub port for Japan Airlines, JAL Express, Japan Air Commuter, All Nippon Airways, and IBEX Airlines. From here, it flies to Tokyo, Sapporo, Fukuoka, Okinawa and other parts of Japan. Osaka Itami International Airport has two terminals, the South and North terminals, connected by a central area that has 4 floors. The first floor is the ticket hall, restaurant, and hotel, the second floor is the departure hall and some restaurants and shops. The third floor is a hotel and outlook restaurant, and the fourth floor is restaurants and shops and a rooftop observation deck called, La Sora. (Since April 18, 2018, the arrival hall has been transferred to the second floor of the Central Terminal.)

Terminal Departure and Arrivals
The departure halls of the South and North Terminals are in 2F. The departure process is baggage check-in and check-in procedures, then head towards the 2F departure hall to go through the security check, and go to your gate to board. The arrival halls of the South and North Terminals have been transferred to the second floor of the Central Terminal as of April 18, 2018. The arrival process is to collect luggage, plant and animal quarantine, and you can leave after the customs baggage inspection.



Osaka Itami International Airport to Osaka City Public Transportation
Osaka Monorail is connected to other routes, making transfers very convenient. At Senri-chuo Station, you can transfer to the Midosuji Subway Line to Umeda; at Hotaru, you can transfer to the Hankyu Takarazuka Line to Umeda. The Osaka Monorail runs approximately from 06:00 to 23:00, with 4 to 5 trains per hour.

Public buses run from Osaka Itami International Airport to various stations in downtown Osaka, like the Shin-Osaka Station, Herbis Osaka, Namba, Tennoji, etc. Tickets start from 500 to 600 yen.

Kansai Airport Observation Hall is easily accessible by shuttle bus from Station 1 of the passenger terminal.
