Cherry blossoms bloom in late-March to early April which can be seen in Matsushima Senbonzakura, Tokushima Central Park, and Funakubo Azalea Park.

White-water rafting season also begins during this time from March to November. During this time it provides the best experience through the rapids with views of clear mountains and adrenaline-pumping drops. In addition to rafting, you can do other activities like canyoning and kayaking. Summer
During the summer season, the beaches come alive and river rafting is still in season. Sunflower Maze located in Mima City has approximately 30,000 sunflowers that bloom between mid-July and early August. August is also when the Awa Odori festival takes place. It is a major folk dance event, known throughout the world as one of Japan's representative traditional performances.


Fall
During the fall season between September through November, the highs can range between 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius) and 60 degrees Fahrenheit (15 degrees Celsius). Autumn in the mountains can come and go very quickly. November is when the fall foliage is at its best in the remote, Iya Valley and Oboke Gorge providing the best spots to enjoy the seasonal colors. The snowfall ranges from 40 to the highest of 60 centimeters during the season.
