Tokyo Gate Bridge

Connecting Seongnam Island in Ota Ward and Wakasa in Koto Ward, the Tokyo Gate Bridge is a 2,618-meter-long bridge across the seaside road of Tokyo Port. 87.8 meters above sea level, the bridge has a shape resembles two dinosaurs facing each other, so it is also called Dinosaur Bridge. It was officially opened to traffic in February 2012.

Under the clear sky, the Mount Fuji and the Tokyo Sky Tree can be clearly seen from the bridge. The construction of the Tokyo Gate Bridge started in 2004, and its purpose is to ease traffic congestion in the Tokyo Bay area. With an spectacular view especially at night, the Tokyo Gate Bridge has been loved by many tourists in recent years, and it has gradually become one of Tokyo's popular attractions. The lighting on the bridge is used for decoration. The 886 LED bulbs installed on the side of the bridge add different colors to the bridge, and the color changes every month.

Visitors walk on the pedestrian path on the bridge free of charge, entering from the elevator next to Wakasu Municipal Park. You can enjoy the magnificent view from the city even to Mount Fuji. Driving across the Tokyo Gate Bridge is another option. Note: On the third Tuesday of every month and the first Tuesday of December (if it is a holiday, it will be the next day), the sidewalk will be closed for maintenance and inspection. The facility will also be closed when there is storm (strong wind, heavy rain) or snow.
