Farm Tomita was founded in 1903 when Tokuma Tomita put the first plow onto the grounds of what is now the Farm Tomita. There are various beautiful flower fields in Farm Tomita, but there are a few large lavender fields on the farm. The traditional Lavender Field is the starting point of the farm, where the history of the farm started. Lavender Forest Field is located further past the hill, where there are two types of lavenders that bloom.

In the center of the farm is the Sakiwai Field, where there are four types of lavenders planted here. Farm Tomita is famous for its Lavender East, which is one of the largest lavender farms in Japan that produces the ingredients for perfumes. There is a tractor that runs through Lavender east for a fee, which will take you around for 15 to 20 minutes enjoying the landscape of the farm and the Tokachi mountain range with a guide. The Lavender East is only available in July, unlike the other flower gardens.

Each flower field on Farm Tomita has different types of flowers and provides different colors depending on the colors. The Irodori Field is the best-known flower field at Farm Tomita. There are seven colors on the rolling hill, creating a beautiful vivid rainbow of flowers. Forest Field provides a spectacular view of the Tokachi Mountains at the top of the field. This farm has so much to offer with the variety of flowers to see and the views of the surroundings.
