What to See around Lake Kawaguchi

Lonking for a panoramic view of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi? Then don't forget to take Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway (Kachikachiyama Ropeway) to Kawaguchiko Tenjoyama Park. It takes only three minutes to take the cable car from the Kawaguchiko Station to the top of the mountain. The spectacular scenery changes at different altitudes. On a clear day, visitors can see Fuji-Q Highland. At the top of the mountain is an observation deck, which offers a panoramic view of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi.

On a clear and sunny day, riding a sightseeing boat is highly recommended, allowing travelers to enjoy the beautiful view of Mount Fuji from different angles. The boarding place is located next to the cable car station. The boat is called Kawaguchiko Ensoleille Sightseeing Boat, which means sunny in French. The ship has a seating area on the first floor and an open deck area on the second floor, providing spacious area for passengers. It takes about 20 minutes for the cruise ship to travel around Lake Kawaguchi. You can have a chance to see the reflection of Mt. Fuji on the lake.

Many people came to Lake Kawaguchi from Tokyo capture the reflection of Mt. Fuji over the lake. But even with good weather, it is hard to see the reflection because clouds could block the light or wind could disturb the water. Thus, capturing reflection of Mt. Fuji over the lake requires more of luck than the equipment. When it comes to the best location for shooting Mt.Fuji reflection, the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchiko is probably the best.

The Kawaguchiko Museum of Art near Lake Kawaguchi has a distinct atmosphere, as if isolated from the rest of the world. The floor-to-ceiling windows are designed to reflect the lake and mountains, blending nature into the museum. The museum collects many photographs of Mount Fuji. Occasionally, the museum host exhibitions by modern artists. There are many cafes near the museum, and you can enjoy desserts by the lake.

Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center is also one of the favorite spots for photography lovers. The Oishi Park is the most popular, with flower fields blooming all year round. In April, there are tulips and rape flowers, followed by lavender in late June. In fall, visitors can admire the magnificent scenery of red blush grass.
