How to get to Geto Kogen Ski Resort from Tokyo? Located in the famous ski place-Geto Kogen, the resort has the best quality powder in the northern part of Honshu. It has two gondolas and other lifts so that skiers can touch the whole mountain in one day. Another benefit is that the higher altitude makes the snow fluffy and soft. What to See Around Geto Kogen Ski Resort
Geto Kogen Onsen is about 2km away from Geto Kogen Ski Resort. It has five or so outdoor onsen baths and one main indoor public bath. This onsen attracted a large number of ladies as the resource water is weak alkaline spring which is considered to be good for skin care. The owner of this onsen offers a set time and a bath for women only. The indoor bath uses natural hot springs, so you can relax with an amazing mountain view.

Geto Kogen Onsen is not only a hots spring but also a small ryokan where can stay overnight here, but only futons in rooms, and one or two restrooms on each floor. There are some shared kitchens in this small inn, you can cook for yourself if you want, and it also has a small grocery where you can find some simple food. There are free shuttles connecting the onsen and Kitakami town. But please note, it is always closed during the winter season as heavy snow often blocked the road.
