Starting in 2017, Japan offers visa exemptions to tourists with valid passports from more than 60 countries, and they can stay in Japan for a maximum of 90 days. If you have an APEC Business Travel Card marked with JPN, you may stay in Japan for business purpose for a maximum of 90 days. Though you may not work at Japan legally as a tourist, short term cultural exchange is allowed.
