Check out the wonderful Royal Botanical Garden of Peradeniya, famous for its over 300 varieties of orchids as well as thousands of species of medicinal plants, spices, and palm trees. Visit a tea plantation and tea factory where the world's best Ceylon tea is made. Learn about the tea manufacturing process and pick some tea for yourself! Catch the wildlife on a Jeep safari at Yala National Park. You will get the chance to see elephants, bears, musk deer, leopards, buffalo, macaques, and many birds.


 
Day01 International Arrival-Negombo
Finally, you have arrived in the exotic country of Sri Lanka! Your guide will pick you up from the airport and drive you to Negombo. Take a break and relax for the rest of the day.

Day02 Negombo-Pinnawala-Sigiriya
Our first stop after breakfast is Pinnawela. Here you can get really close to the elephants while they eat and bathe in the unique Elephant Orphanage. After lunch, we will head to Sigiriya. On our way, we will have the chance to try some coconut with a local Sri Lankan family.

Day03 Sigiriya-Lion Rock-Hiriwadunna Village Safari
We urge you to wake up before the crack of dawn to see the truly unforgettable sunset from the citadel of Lion Rock. The climb is not easy, but it is well worth the effort for one-of-a-kind picture opportunities. In the afternoon, we will go on the Hiriwadunna Village safari, where you will glimpse dry-zone bird life and other native wildlife. When we board a scenic cruise on the Hiriwadunna Lake later, you will get a great view of Lion Rock.

Day04 Sigiriya-Kandy
The first thing on our agenda today is a visit to the famous Dambulla Cave Temple, a place known for its grand Buddha images and rock painting from as far back as the 2nd century BC. Next, we will take you to Kandy, Ceylon's old capital. When we get to Kandy, we will watch a traditional Rangahala Cultural Dance (Kandyan Dance). After this, we will walk to the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, Sri Lanka's famous Buddhist shrine.

Day05 Kandy Sightseeing
This morning, take a trip to the Royal Botanical Garden of Peradeniya, which is home to over 300 varieties of orchids as well as spices, medicinal plants, and palm trees. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy at your own leisure.

Day06 Kandy-Nuwara Eliya  
After we eat breakfast, we will head to Nuwara Eliya by train (subject to availability). This remarkable train ride goes through and along magnificent mountains, waterfalls, and tea plantations. After we arrive at Nanuoya Railway Station, we will head for the hotel, and you can enjoy the rest of the day on your own.

Day07 Nuwara Eliya Sightseeing
In the morning, we will go on a visit to a tea plantation and factory, and you will see where the world's best Ceylon tea is made. After you learn about the tea manufacturing process, you can pick some tea for yourself. The rest of the day is open for you to relax in the hotel or stroll through downtown Nuwara Eliya.

Day08 Nuwara Eliya-Tissamaharama-Yala National Park
After breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and head to Tissamaharama. When we arrive at our hotel there, you can relax for a bit before our evening adventures begin. Later, we will go on a Jeep safari through Yala National Park. You will get to see a variety of creatures like elephants, buffalo, black bears, deer, macaques, and numerous birds in this captivating park.

Day09 Tissamaharama-Yala National Park Safari
In the morning, we will take another Jeep safari through Yala National Park. The afternoon is free for you to relax, but we urge you to try the savory seafood at one of the popular local restaurants for dinner.

Day10 Tissamaharama-Galle
After breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and head to Galle, a colonial port fortified by Portuguese and Dutch colonists. In the afternoon, you can take your time wandering around the Galle Dutch Fort, one of the well-preserved fortresses in Sri Lanka.

Day11 Galle-Colombo
Today, catch a ride from the hotel to Colombo. When you arrive there, you will go on a city tour to see some of Colombo's most prominent landmarks: Independence Square, Gangarama Temple, Colombo National Museum, and the long promenade of Galle Face Green, among others. We will stop at the British Administrative Center for a photo opportunity.

Day12 Colombo - Departure
Today, we will take you to Colombo International Airport to catch your departing flight.
